Welcome to Apollo version 1.0, the launching utility. This is the fifth major release of Apollo. Beta versions 0.5, 0.6, 0.7 and 0.8 have been widely used and very well-received: the feedback, in the forms of suggestions for improvements and bug reports, was overwhelming and extraordinarily helpful. Apollo has very much been shaped by its users.

Although I am very grateful to everyone who helped me in the writing of Apollo, special thanks are due to a few people. Mark Nagata, Ren√© Ros, Steve Satre, Murph Sewall and Karl-K√∂nig K√∂nigsson tested version 1.0, at the expense of not a few system crashes, and helped to make it as solid as it now is. Mike Tsaoutos gave me the idea for better icons, and Ben Bidstrup allowed me frequent use of his colour Macs on which to design them. Last, and definitely not least, my wife Chlo√´, who regarded my frequent and prolonged absences at the Mac with quite astonishing calm and understanding.
